For clearing the storage space taken by Avast, we will manually delete the leftover files and folders. You can find Avast leftover files in the below location on your Mac:-

~/Library/ApplicationSupport/AvastHUB

~/Library/Caches/com.avast.AAFM

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.avast.home.userpront.plist

After deleting all the garbage files, restart your Mac (this is important), and we are done with this process.

3# Using Avast Security Uninstaller (Avast Uninstall Utility)

You must be thinking, why am I explaining the third method? Because Avast Uninstall Utility is an all-in-one pack and very handy for this operation.

You can save your time and effort by removing the application, files, and folders linked with the Avast application with the help of Avast security uninstaller.

I am going to demonstrate how to uninstall the Avast from Mac with the help of Avast uninstall utility, aka Avast Clear application.

1. First, you need to Download Avast Clear File
2. Launch the downloaded file on your Mac.

This one is my favorite, as I use this on my Mac, faced no issues so far.

So I will show you how to remove the Avast Mac application from your operating system by the CleanMyMac X utility.

• Download CleanMyMac X from here  (Both Free and Premium Verison are available)
• Double-click on the downloaded file to install the application and launch it.
• Select the Uninstaller option from the list of applications

• Search for Avast in the checklist and click on Uninstall

After completion of the uninstalling process, all the files and folders linked with the Avast security application will be deleted and removed permanently.

Note:  Avast always runs in a background mode, CleanMyMac X may request you to quit the application before deleting it. Open Activity Monitor to stop all Avast processes and then successfully remove the app from your Mac.
